CHAPTER ONE
I looked all over the house and didn't find my father! I went back to my room and wore a pair of black pants and went down again, as I was going to get my black boots I found a paper next to the door. I took it immediately and started reading it " Dear my daughter, Emilia. Don't be scared you'll be safe, there are guards around the house. Stay inside and don't try to go out. I provided everything you'll need for the next two weeks.. once I get a chance to come home I will. Take care my little girl! -Your father, Marcus."
I teared up while reading that letter.. what's going on! where and why did he go ! Why am i being guarded ? And why are all these innocent people being killed! All those questions were in my head. I couldn't sit there and do nothing! I wore my boots as fast as I could and opened the door with shaking hands. I was about to step out when this tall man stopped me "Are you insane ? go inside " The dauntless guy said, while pushing me inside
"Leave me! I wanna go" I said, without realizing the tears that filled my cheeks
"Don't you understand that it's dangerous for you to be outside!" said the guy, as he was intering our house. He closed the door and locked it.
"What's happening why are you killing everyone" I said, or screamed!
He looked away for a minute, he was scared to say it. "Listen, what i'm about to tell you might put me in danger. Erudite is putting a war with abnegation. I can't give you more informations than that but don't worry, your father is already out of the country so he'll be safe" Said the guy
I was shocked with what I heard. I always knew that erudite hated abnegation but putting a war ? Killing innocent people for no reason ? Why is that happening. If my father is out of the country why didn't he warn us at least ?
"This is ridiculous, it all doesn't make sence tell me where is my father ?" I said, with a sharp voice
"You ask a lot, once you see him he'll tell you. Oh and if you step outside this door you know that no one can keep you safe, so you better not." Said the unknown guy
He opened the door and went out, leaving me with lots of questions.. there is only one way to find out their answers. But how am I gonna do it?
I sat in my room the whole day.. I was really scared but I tried to calm my self up with drawing, the thing that I always do whenever i'm not feeling my best. It expresses my feelings, translates my thoughts and mostly help me to solve whatever problem that's thrown onto me.. It might not sound right, but on that day it really helped me, a lot.
I tried to memorize the area around our house, the hallways, the streets and everything, I drew a highly-risked plan.. but that was the only one i could've thought about during that time. Sleeping that night was almost impossible, although it was really quiet, it was still threatening me. I don't know how long have I stayed awake for, but I'm pretty sure it was more than 24 hours.. After that I fell into a deep sleep and I don't even know how long have I slept for, but I woke up shaking, after having the worst dream. I was breathing too fast. I looked at the clock to see that it was 4 in the evening. perfect time to do the first step from my plan.
I went downstairs and went to a room in the back of the house, I looked into the window to make sure there's no one around, opened it quietly and then suddenly- started screaming, just when I heard footsteps running into me, I closed it and went out of the room. I took the bag I filled with food and clothes and stepped out of the house, I saw dropped weapons and I took whatever that was in front of me, and ran as fast as i could to a house that I used to go to a lot when I was little, just few hallways away from ours.
I wanted to learn how to use guns without the guards knowing.. I wasn't planning on shooting them, but I knew that learning it would help me in my next few steps so I had to.
